Bring church to those in the community

Since 2009, we’ve brought regular and special church services to settings and communities where people cannot attend services. These include nursing and residential homes, supported living facilities, and temporary accommodation premises such as the Red House, Prothero House, and Northumberland Park House.

Residents enjoy singing cherished hymns and choruses, hearing messages of God’s love, and engaging in warm fellowship. It’s a beautiful time of connection and care, reflecting Christ’s love in action.

When I started working at Priscilla Wakefield House in 2012 there was already a link with Canaan Church. The connection has deepened and flourished over time. We are truly grateful for the ongoing commitment and dedication of Canaan Church to enable our residents to join in praise and worship. Due to demand from our residents Canaan Church now deliver fortnightly Services. The services are joyful and engaging and every effort is made to connect with our residents especially through singing hymns which are meaningful to them. Canaan Church often bring generous donations of fruits and snacks for our residents which are gratefully received. Our residents and team find great comfort from the knowledge that we are always in the prayers of Canaan Church community.
